I have been shooting and directing documentaries since the late 90s and am now taking my first steps into the world of narrative fiction.
I’t’s always been my goal to make thought provoking, memorable docs. I focus on developing open & trusting relationships with the people I film with and finding ways to translate their emotions and their stories into compelling, creative films with grit and heart.
I grew up in Paris but I’m now based in Ireland where I run Frontline Films a small documentary production company.
In 2003 “The Revolution Will Not Be Televised” a documentary I co-directed and shot with Donnacha O’Brien, chronicling the failed coup against Venezuelan President Chavez from inside the presidential palace, premiered at SXSW, scooped up dozens of international awards and continues to be used in media courses across the world.
I have won multiple international awards including the Grierson and IDA awards for Best Documentary & Banff’s Global Television Grand Prize. In Ireland I have twice won Best Documentary Feature at the Galway Film Fleadh and have been nominated for six IFTA awards for Best Documentary.
In 2023 I was selected for the X-Pollinator writer/ director residency lead by director Aisling Walsh with LEMONADE, my first screenplay, which has since been developped with support from Screen Ireland and was selected for the 2023 Stowe Story Lab writer’s retreat in Connemara.
I started 2024 shadowing director Dearbhla Walsh (Bad Sisters, Fargo, The Handmaid’s Tale) on her latest APPLE drama series and I’m being mentored by writer/ director Frank Berry (Aisha, Michael Inside, I Used to Live Here) under Screen Ireland’s mentoring scheme. I am hoping to go into production on LEMONADE in 2025.
I mentor documentary students at IADT, Ireland’s National Film School & am proud to be an active board member of SDGI the Screen Director’s Guild of Ireland.
